Contract Value and Number of Contracts are two important concepts related to futures contact trading.
Contract Value: The value of a contract refers to the quantity or value of the underlying asset represented by each contract. It can be a quantity measured in crypto currency, such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), etc., or a value measured in fiat currency, such as US dollars (USD) etc. The value of the contract determines the value of each contract. For example, if the face value of the contract is 0.001 BTC, then the value of each contract is equal to the value of 0.001 Bitcoin.
Number of Contracts: The number of contracts refers to the quantity of contracts bought and sold in contract trading. In cryptocurrency exchanges, contracts are usually traded in fixed numbers, not in quantities. This number is set by the exchange and can be an integer value, such as 1 contract, 10 contracts, 100 contracts, etc. When buying and selling contracts, the number of contracts you choose determines your position and trading scale in the contract. For example, if you buy 10 Bitcoin contracts, you will hold a Bitcoin position equivalent to 10 times the value of the contract.
The combination of contract value and number of contracts determines your trading scale and risk when trading contracts on the exchange. By controlling the number of contracts, you can flexibly adjust the trading scale and leverage multiple, thereby obtaining corresponding profits or losses in price fluctuations.
