Mark Price represents the theoretical price of a trading pair under current market conditions, and is used to mitigate the impact of momentary price fluctuations on user accounts and risk control systems. Mark Price is also the reference price for calculating user account equity, margin rate, and triggering liquidations.
3EX Mark Price takes into account the index prices of multiple exchanges as well as short-term price trends. The index price is calculated using the weighted average price from several exchanges, including Binance, OKX, MEXC, Coinbase, Bitget, Gate.io, and Huobi. The short-term price trend uses the price fluctuations within 30 minutes to calculate the moving average, which is then added to the index price to obtain the Mark Price.
The calculation formula is:
Mark Price = Index Price + MA (30-minute basis) ((Bid1 + Ask1) / 2 - Index Price)
MA (30-minute basis) = Moving Average ((Bid1 + Ask1) / 2 - Index Price), with a 30-minute interval (configurable time period), sampled every second.
Users need to pay attention to the calculation rules of Mark Price, set reasonable stop-loss and take-profit prices, and manage risks properly. The Mark Price system can reduce the impact of price fluctuations on users and the platform while maintaining market sensitivity. However, users should note that the Mark Price is only a reference price and does not represent the final transaction price.
